Greenways Primary School

PE Timetable

Below is a list of the days when each class will have PE. Please note that on PE days children should come into school in their PE kit and wearing appropriate footwear for PE. Please ensure your child has a full kit that is warm enough for the day or they have a hat for when the weather gets warmer.

Parents will be notified directly in advance of any changes to the PE timetable, due to staff absence or due to participation in external competitions.  We do appreciate your patience and support with this.

Should for any reason your child be unable to take full part in the PE lesson due to a medical reason, please contact the school office by telephone or email.

Please see the uniform policy for information on kit needed for PE.

Swimming Information

Children will need a large towel and a swimming hat in their team colour (Arrows yellow, Hearts green, Shakers blue and Sparks red). Girls should wear a one-piece costume (not bikini) and boys should wear close-fitting trunks (not Bermuda shorts). If children need goggles, they must bring them from home as we are unable to supply them. Children in KS1 will need a dressing gown and flip flops.

Children will need to bring their swimming kit in a bag which is large enough to then hold their clothing (including shoes) whilst they swim.

We would ask that children are taught to put on their own swimming hats, as staff are unable to assist them. We would recommend silicone hats which are apparently easier to put on.

As has always been the case, we will not be able to swim if the pool is not at the minimum temperature or above, and we will let parents know as soon as possible if this is ever the case. With this in mind, we ask that children wear their PE kit on that day so they can participate in a PE lesson as an alternative to swimming.

Should for any reason your child be unable to take full part in a swimming lesson due to a medical reason, please contact the school office by telephone or email.
