Greenways Primary School

New Intake 2021

Welcome to Greenways

Welcome to our page for new and prospective parents. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  We are immensely proud of our school community and everything it has to offer and we hope that you will find this information useful in making the right decision for your child's future.

Our priority right now is keeping everyone safe, so we are not providing opportunities for new and prospective parents to visit the school.  Instead we are inviting you to take a look at our website and get to know the school using the videos below.

Here is a link to our Virtual Tour. If you have any specific questions, please get in touch using contactus@greenways.lihtrust.uk or give us a call on 01702 987950.

Transition Sessions

We hope you are well. As promised in our recent correspondence, we are now in the position to inform you of the transition arrangements for our school starters in September 2021. Thank you for your patience in awaiting this information, whilst we have been planning the safest and smoothest way for the children to begin their school journey.

We have crafted three sessions to make introductions in order to help support your child’s transition into school at Greenways.

These will include:

  • A picnic and story on the school grounds. This will be an opportunity to bring your own picnic and meet the staff and new class. These will take place one afternoon during the afternoons of w/c Monday 5th July.

Pinecone

Tuesday 6th July from 12pm-12:45pm

Catkin

Wednesday 7th July from 12pm-12:45pm

Conker

Thursday 8th July from 12pm-12:45pm

Acorn

Friday 9th July from 12pm-12:45pm

To celebrate joining Greenways your child will be given a copy of the storybook that will be read to them to take home and keep.

  • A school introductory visit. This will be a bookable appointment where you and your child can have bespoke time in their classroom and meet their teacher, teacher assistant and a member of PST. These will take place in the mornings from w/c Monday 6th September and a member of the office team will be in touch to book your session.
  • A taster session for the children in their new classroom. This will be for your child to explore their new environment and spend time with the adults in their classroom. These sessions are scheduled for either the morning or the afternoon on Monday 13th and/or Tuesday 14th September. The times for these sessions will be as follows:

For the morning session, the children’s drop-off time is 9.30am and your collection time will be 11am. For the afternoon session, the children’s drop-off time is 1pm and your collection time will be 2.30pm. A member of the office team will be in touch to book your session.

Following these sessions, the children to attend 3 half days. These will take place in the mornings and will run from Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th September.

We have planned for children to start full time from Monday 20th September. This is subject to change during these uncertain times and we will be in contact if this date should change.

We have begun our nursery transition visits and we very much look forward to meeting you and your child as we welcome you all into our school community.
